Founded in 1989, Kage Distributors began after Kate and Guy Gismondi launched a new venture following Guy's 15-year career with Kerr Manufacturing. Their business focused on consulting, introducing innovative dental products throughout Europe, and bringing new technologies back to the United States. While working overseas, colleagues often referred to the company by an official name, inspiring KAGE—an acronym for Kate and Guy Enterprise. Although many have guessed a more elaborate story behind the name, its true origin reflects the partnership that built the company.

Guy began his career as a Certified Dental Technician specializing in Crown and Bridge before joining Kerr Manufacturing in Research and Development, where he gained extensive knowledge of dental materials. He later transitioned into sales, marketing, and new business development, serving customers across Michigan, Ohio, Northern Indiana, the United States, and Canada.

In 1989, Guy embraced the opportunity to become an Independent Sales Representative, helping emerging manufacturers introduce innovative products to the dental market. That entrepreneurial decision became the foundation of Kage Distributors, a company dedicated to delivering trusted products, expert knowledge, and outstanding customer service.
